Whether
your ceremony is indoors or out, at a park or a beach, elegant
or simple, Monterey County is the perfect place to begin your
journey of wedded bliss. Sunset Magazine called Lover’s
Point in Pacific Grove (one of Monterey Beach Weddings’
ceremony locations) “One of the top 10 most romantic
places in America”!
Sunset walks on the
beach, a romantic candle-lit dinner for two, adventure by day,
and a quiet escape by night. Monterey County is the ideal place
for couples young and “young at heart” to fall in
love, or fall in love all over again. If you are getting married
in Monterey County but have made other arrangements for the honeymoon,
you might want to postpone your departure for a couple days, or
at least have a few days before the wedding so that you can enjoy
the beauty of this majestic coastal location. From Santa Cruz
to Big Sur — the magnificence is hard to explain —
it must be seen!
From our famous and
breathtaking 17-Mile Drive with stately cypress tress, California
live oaks and iconic ice plant filling the landscape, to the rugged
coastline where the water turns from sea-foam green to cobalt
blue as it rushes toward shore, to quaint little towns like Carmel-by-the-Sea
and Pacific Grove, there is beauty and fun things to do everywhere
you look. We have renowned golf courses, some of the most famous
and unique restaurants in the States, historic churches and missions,
elegant hotels, comforting and beautiful B&Bs, lovely museums
and delicious wine tasting; and the shopping — well it’s
certainly worth every penny!
You can choose from
fishing, sunning, picnicking, and surfing. There’s a 5-mile
long walking and biking trail that winds past the park and along
the bay through Pacific Grove and part of Monterey. A wide range
of marine mammals, birds, fish and invertebrates makes Monterey
Bay the perfect place to observe tide pools and sea creatures.
Milos Radakovich, marine biologist and nature guide, says that
he considers February, being the end of the winter storm season
with weather temperatures rarely getting below 50 degrees and
the fruit trees and flowers in full bloom, to be the best time
to explore his “home coast.”
